Kiehl’s Since 1851, the venerable skincare purveyor based in Manhattan, New York, has been adhering to the spirit of excellence for 167 years to create skincare products with premium natural ingredients for gentle and effective results. In 2005, Kiehl’s launched its bestseller Ultra Facial Cream and sponsored a team of explorers headed by Robert Anderson on their successful expedition to the ice-capped First Ascent of Greenland for the first time in human history. The exceptional achievement of the team, which consisted of 4 male and 1 female summiteers with four of them being members of New York’s renowned Explorers Club, marked a significant milestone on the history of Kiehl’s.

Kiehl’s Ultra Adventure reality show challeges the limits to inspire positive change

Kiehl’s has long been a sponsor of extreme explorations that challenge the limits of strength. To celebrate the 12th anniversary of the Ultra Facial Cream, the brand invited Real Ting, Laurinda Ho and Donald and Jim from the amusing duo ILUB to participate in the very first skincare reality show entitled Kiehl’s Ultra Adventure. In the enchanting surroundings of Queenstown, New Zealand, the four celebrities stretched their intellectual and physical limits for an innovative demonstration of the Ultra Facial Cream’s ability to withstand extreme climates.

Kiehl’s also invited Laurinda Ho, founder of the charitable organization Smile with us HK, to design the jar cap of the Ultra Facial Cream Limited Edition with the motif of ‘spreading positivity with smiles’. A donation of HK$450,000 will also be made to the organization in support of Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Welfare Council’s “Smile Together”, which identifies and supports underprivileged students in need of special education with appropriate assessments and trainings for them to adapt to ordinary schools.

The reality show features a total of four episodes, namely “Ultra Adventure on the Earth”, “Ultra Adventure on the Ice”, “Ultra Adventure in the Sky” and “Ultra Adventure: Finale”. The four celebrities formed two teams, with Real Ting and Laurinda Ho on one side and the ILUB duo on the other to give their best in an exhilarating journey to raise funds for Smile with us HK.

Talking about his reason behind the participation, thrillseeker Real Ting said it was the ideal opportunity for him to challenge himself for a philanthropic cause. Laurinda Ho chimed in by expressing her gratitude to Kiehl’s for raising funds for Smile with us HK to support underprivileged children in need of special education.

Excitement and laughter prevailed the shoot thanks to the humorous duo Donald and Jim. “I have never climbed a snow mountain, this is definaitely challenging my limits. It is my pleasure to take part in the reality show.” Jim added, “We had a really great time working with the crew as a team!.” In a journey filled with joy, it is Laurinda Ho’s aspiration for Hongkongers to “make a difference with smiles and a positive attitude”.

Design inspiration for Ultra Facial Cream Limited Edition

As the founder of Smile with us HK, Laurinda Ho has long been actively participating in philanthropic initiatives. In her first collaboration with Kiehl’s, she designs the jar cap of the Ultra Facial Cream Limited Edition with the motif of “spreading positivity with smiles”, drawing inspiration from the logo of her charity. “The design features a smiley that epitomises happiness and positivity. It is surrounded by a heart-shape balloon on a light pink background, with a view to spreading the message of Smile with us HK to uplift society with joy and positivity while encouraging the public to support local charities.”
