L’Oréal manufactures 85.9% of its products in its own plants, a strategy aimed at ensuring safety, quality and compliance with group’s values and ethics.

For L’Oréal being responsible means controlling the manufacture of its products. By choosing a largely integrated industrial model, the group does not only guarantee the overall quality of its products; it can also be certain that its ethical, environmental and corporate principles are complied with. The group’s industrial production is organised regionally with 41 plants established on all continents. The industrial organisation is increasingly local and closer to the markets. In 2010 L’Oréal opened a plant in Kaluga, Russia and in 2011 launched three building sites in Mexico, Indonesia and Egypt.

The main mission of the manufacturing teams is to provide the business divisions, which are their internal customers, with high-quality products within the required timelines and at the agreed price under the best possible conditions of safety. To support the group’s strategy of international expansion they are also responsible for developing, managing and optimising the group’s industrial resources.

Plant Manager
You coordinate the resources needed for product availability in compliance with the group’s industrial policy. You are responsible for the safety of the people and property on your site and you encourage progress in the teams you recruit and whose development you manage. You also manage corporate relations on the site. You are the authority on the site for the group’s long-term development policy.

Performance Improvement Manager
As a member of the site management committee the performance manager steers the plant’s overall approach in terms of production guidelines. Your objective is to increase the overall performance of the production equipment, which is a key lever of operational excellence. Your mission includes coordination, supervision, training schemes, organising audits and sharing good practices.

Production Unit Engineer
You contribute to improving site performance by running working groups in which operators, manufacturers, technicians and supervisors participate and you implement plans of action in line with industrial policy (SMED, productive maintenance, Kanban, etc.). You monitor investment projects and take part in technical choices, coordinate the installation of new systems and set up indicators to assess project efficiency.
