The main logo

On every page, a single click on the L’Oréal logo displayed in the banner leads back to the home page of the website.

Main menu

Main menu

The main menu in the left hand column lets you access the headings and main pages of the website. It is a drop-down menu which can be controlled by the mouse, the keyboard or with the fingers on a touch screen.

Secondary menu

Once in the main heading of the website, a second menu appears next to the main content. This secondary menu lists all the sub-headings available under the current heading.

Page footer menu

At the bottom of the page, the footer menu lets you access all headings and sub-headings of the site and additional pages such as the contact page, the map of L’Oréal’s branches, the choice of another language or country, the Legal Notice page, the site map, etc.

Breadcrumb trail

On all the site’s pages except the home page, a breadcrumb trail is displayed above the main content. This breadcrumb trail tells you where you are in the tree structure of the website. It indicates the path followed from the home page to get to the current page, and also provides links to let you move back up the site’s tree structure.

Site map

On every page of the site, a site map can be accessed by a link in the page footer menu. This site map gives you an overview of the tree structure of the website and links you directly to the page or heading of your choice.

Search engine

On every page, a search field is available in the left hand column. When you perform a search, the search engine of the website lists the site pages that correspond best to your search.

Functionalities offered by your browser

As well as the aids made available directly on the website, the site has been designed so as to allow your browser to make the most of its own functionalities.

Increasing character size

On all the pages of the website, you have the possibility of increasing the size of the characters. f you use a PC, use the key combination Ctrl + “+” (the “plus” sign) to increase the size of the characters. The key combination Ctrl + “-” (the “minus” sign) allows you to reduce the size of the characters. Repeating the combinations increase or decrease character size by increments. Also note that the key combination Ctrl + 0 (“zero”) gets you back to the text default size. For Mac users, simply replace the Ctrl key in the above combinations by the Cmd key to get the same results.

Keyboard navigation

The website has been designed so as to all keyboard navigation on all pages. In most cases, the Tab key is all you need to sequence through the clickable elements in the page. And if you want to work backwards through the sequence you can use the key combination Shift + Tab.


Keyboard users can print any page of the site by going to the desired page and then pressing Ctrl + P on your keyboard if you are on PC, or Cmd + P if you use a Mac.

Save to favorites

Keyboard users at last have the possibility to save any page to your favorites. You can do that by going to the desired page and then pressing Ctrl + D on your keyboard if you are on PC, or Cmd + D if you use a Mac.

The website offers a certain number of videos. A special effort has been made to make these videos accessible to as many people as possible.

Text transcriptions

Each video is accompanied by a detailed text transcription.

This transcription gives access to the content of the video even if you cannot play it.

The transcription is accessible via a link placed underneath each video.


Each video which needs it is accompanied by synchronized sub-titles. These subtitles can be freely activated or disabled with a button placed directly in the video player.

The subtitles allow deaf and hard of hearing, or people who cannot hear the sound (because of lack of speakers or a noisy environment, etc.) to access the sound information on the video all the same. In addition they are often useful for persons whose mother tongue is not French, who will be very pleased to have the sound and a textual accompaniment for better understanding.
