Forum "Diversita al lavoro"
After the successful “Employment & Diversity” Forums in France, created by L’Oréal and IMS Entreprendre pour la Cité in 2006, Italy held its first edition of “Diversità al lavoro” (Diversity at Work ) in 2008 in L’Oréal's premises. In partnership with the “Soladidas” foundation, 18 companies participated in the forum and 320 candidates, foreign or with disabilities, were interviewed. From these candidates, 19 were hired. Since then, the forum "Diversita al lavoro" has been held every year.
L’Oréal & Moms
To help mothers achieve better life-work balance, L’Oréal Italy has held workshops since 2010. In response to their needs for flexibility at work, the group signed an agreement to adapt work hours for mothers returning from maternity leave. In June 2011, the group launched "L’Oréal & Moms", an intranet portal for all working mothers. A specific workshop, "mothers and work", focusing on the return to work after maternity leave was created in March 2012. This initiative inspired Mexico, the group's second subsidiary, to launch an intranet dedicated to mothers.
L’Oréal AND DISADVANTAGD YOUTHS
The “Piazza dei Mestieri Foundation” offers professional training for disadvantaged young students through the program called "My First Look into the Working World". Thanks to a long-term partnership with this foundation, almost 150 students successfully completed their training period between 2010 and 2012.
Work & disabilities
At the end of 2010, L’Oréal Italy launched a laboratory "Work and disabilities, words to actions", to address the challenge of making employees more aware of a reality that they were still not often confronted with in their daily lives. Many projects came out of this laboratory. In 2011, the 10 universities of Lombardy signed an agreement for the creation of the CALD, a coordination office for students with disabilities, to help them obtain internships in companies. In 2012, L’Oréal organized an open house in partnership with the "Sodalidas" foundation and with the CALD, dedicated to students with disabilities at the end of their university studies.
Since February 2011, L’Oréal Italy is focusing on the integration of persons with autism within the company. Their project provides internships for young adults, 18 to 21 years old, and helps reintegrate older persons with autism back into the workforce.
