We are very glad to share with you that one of the four awardees of the 2015 L’Oréal Scholarship for Research Internship Dr. Sarah Wong Sze-Wah (5th from the left in attached photo) was offered a 1.5-year full time employment in the world renowned Institut Pasteur in Paris. This has been a very encouraging result when the Scholarship is celebrating its 3rd Anniversary since it was launched by the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau, the HKU-Pasteur Research Pole and L’Oréal Hong Kong in 2012.
Dr. Sarah Wong Sze-Wah is a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong). With the support by the L’Oreal Scholarship for Research Internship, she performed internship in Dr. Oumaima Granet's unit in Institut Pasteur in France (Cytokines & Inflammation Unit, Infection & Epidemiology Department) from mid-Apr to mid-Jul 2015. Towards the end of this month, Sarah will become a post-doctoral researcher on Aspergillus(a kind of fungi) in the Aspergillus Unit under the supervision of Prof. Jean-Paul Latge.
Four talented Hong Kong postgraduate students, Dr. Sarah Wong Sze-Wah, Dr. Felice Tseng Ho-Ching, Mr. Peter Lai Kin-Kui and Ms. Karen Kwan Hoi-Lam from the University of Hong Kong were the proud recipients of 2015 awards, which provide financial support from L’Oréal to take up internships at Institut Pasteur and perform research work in an academic discipline of their choice.
