L’Oréal Makes a Positive Impact to the Local Community through Long-term Partnership Hong Chi Association

Our 24th year partnering with Hong Chi.

L’Oréal is committed to diversity and inclusion in society through helping people in difficult social or economic situations find employment. L’Oréal Hong Kong’s long-term partnership with Hong Chi Association, the largest NGO in Hong Kong focusing on the needs of those with intellectual disabilities, is a clear demonstration of such commitment.

L’Oréal Hong Kong’s partnership with Hong Chi Association began in 1996 with outsourcing packaging and labeling work to its sheltered workshop which provides employment and stable income to adults with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities.

In 2009, we launched L’Oréal global initiative “Beauty for a Better Life” program in Hong Kong. Under the local program, we helped Hong Chi Association provide top-quality hairstyling training to students at the Hong Chi Morninghope School in Tuen Mun. This initiative was recognized as an “Outstanding Partnership” by the local Caring Company Award.

In recent years, we continued our partnership with Hong Chi Association and rolled out different activities, including:

  • refurnishing the salon training classroom at the Hong Chi Pinehill Integrated Vocational Training Centre in 2019
  • sponsorship to students at the TM Morninghope School for Chinese New Year festival activities
  • Hong Chi Climbathon
  • Hong Chi Association New Territories Flag Day fundraisers
